What is the best or most interesting thing you've learned so far in class? How could you use it if you were dropped in the middle of a Spanish-speaking country tomorrow?

Use the link below to access a sports section of Argentine news - choose one of them to help you find a real story in Spanish about a sporting event.  Click on "Deportes" to see a drop-down box of different types of sports.  Choose one you are interested in and read the story.  Based on what you understand, write a brief 4 sentence summary of the story, including the title of the story you read.

1) Clarín

2) Infobae

Let's get busy!

Bueno, ya que cavamos la primera semana del año escolar...¡epa, epa! Yahoo! We finished the first week of the new school year!  Now it's time to get down to business!  Here are some sites to help you with your "repaso" of what you learned in español 1-2 ;):

Okay, now that I have your attention, write a comment on which one you liked best and why.  Maybe it "speaks" to how you're feeling about class, or maybe you appreciate that type of approach. ¡Nos veremos mañana!

Bienvenidos...

¡Hola estudiantes! It's going to be a great semester at PVHS, and especially in my classroom ;).  We will be doing lots of things, but so you are Prepared, here are some important things to know about what you will need:

  • PRIDE takes center stage - we work together to create a place where everyone can learn and be successful!
  • You'll need to bring a good attitude and the willingness to try new things
  • You'll need a spiral notebook, a pen or pencil and at least one glue stick
  • I ask that you bring in $5 to cover some other supplies and for our special cultural experiences
Learning Spanish can be a challenge, but it will also be fun.  So that you can get the most out of this class, please keep in mind the following:

  • try, try and try....participation is 34% of your total grade!
  • always be to class on time and ready to GO!
  • if you do have to miss, keep me posted and check the calendar and blog to stay on top of things
  • extra credit opportunities are offered EVERY week and posted on our class calendar as well as this blog
  • cell phones are a TOOL and we may use them as such, but they do NOT take the place of learning :) - respect our time and I will return the favor
  • your notebook will become your best amigo - the repository of all knowledge for español
  • any questions or concerns should be sent to my email: titaylor@pvlearners.net
I look forward to getting to know all of you... VAMONOS aprender juntos!
