Quarter 3 is Almost Over!!!

We have been really busy and the Quarter has flown by!

The students have learned how to talk about daily routines and use reflexive verbs - a concept that's different from English, but they did a great job.

Ask them to share their canciones locas with you - they definitely made me smile!

Be looking for updates about Conferences and some cool cultural items for the month of October, like Día de los Muertos.

¡Olé! Three weeks have gone by and Spanish class is rockin' and rollin'!  Students worked on creating individual covers for their cuadernos, reviewed all present tense verbs and learned some tips and tricks in Google apps with their GSuite project.  We're still working through our new digilibros to figure out how it all works together.

This coming week we have early release on Tuesday, so all classes end at 11:30 am.  We will also start learning reflexive verbs and start a project on La Vuelta, a professional cycling event similar to the Tour de France, that takes place all over Spain.  ¡Que divertido! Here is a link if you want to check it out!  https://www.lavuelta.es/en/

¡Es viernes!

This week we learned how to use our digilibros, worked on our covers for our cuadernos, reviewed the verbs ser and estar (to be) as well as Señora Taylor's Frases Utiles - Useful Phrases.  Students have to answer a Spanish prompt to enter the class - this helps them practice their spoken Spanish, as well as cement learning of new vocabulary.

Today they took their first quiz - bien hecho - well done as the average was 80%!  They are also working on their GSuite project, to learn how to use google tips and tricks for documents, presentations, calendar and email.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

¡Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español 3-4! I will post once a week here about what's happening in class.  Please make sure that every day you have the following for class:
  • cuaderno
  • pen or pencil
  • ID
  • PRIDE guide
  • glue stick
Our textbook will stay in the class, and much of what we do will be digital.  We will be using Google Classroom, and our new textbook, Senderos 2.  Remember to always communicate with me if you are having issues or questions: titaylor@pvlearners.net.  I will post a general idea of what we'll be doing in class every week.  This can sometimes change based on assemblies, meetings, and the pace of our class.

To be successful you need to also bring a positive attitude, a willingness to try, and an open mind. My syllabus can be found on the website and on our Google Classroom, but to summarize some important points, keep in mind the following:
  • grading is on a regular scale
  • extra credit opportunities are posted every Friday and are due by Monday
  • doing your homework helps you learn because it's about practicing what we do in class
  • please let me know how I can help you be successful!
